This \u201clittle voice\u201d with all the accompanying emotions can sometimes\nhold us back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Have you ever been\nin a situation where you thought, \u201cI\u2019m not good enough. This is too\noverwhelming. I\u2019m bored. &nbsp;I\u2019m too tired. This is too difficult.&nbsp; I am\nso disappointed. I\u2019m so frustrated. And on and on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I would like to\nshare three unique techniques I use when my negative emotions get in my way.\nThe great thing is that these don\u2019t require any medications, psychologists,\npsychiatrists or therapists.&nbsp; I learned these from Little Voice Mastery by\nBlair Singer, and they work for me. Try them! See if they work for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How Am I\nFeeling Technique<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first\ntechnique is to ask yourself, \u201cHow am I feeling right now\u201d?&nbsp; When\nconfronted with a new situation or one that is causing some sort of stress, it\nis very helpful to assess the feeling. There is a feeling scale (see next technique)\nand when you can move yourself to a <a href=\"https:\/\/charleneday.com\/enneagram-transformation-process\/\">more\nresourceful place<\/a>; it is easier to accomplish the task that you consider\nstressful. When I was confronted with a daunting task, I had to take myself\nfrom fear to hope in order to move the energy forward and accomplish the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This technique\nassesses your feelings and when combined with the next technique &#8211;\n&#8220;choosing your feeling technique&#8221;, you can find the appropriate\nfeeling to get you back to a state of resourcefulness.<strong><br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Choose Your\nFeeling Technique<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes we feel\n&#8216;in the dumps&#8217;.&nbsp; Identify what you are feeling (technique 1) and then your\nnext step is to move your emotion higher up the emotional scale. The emotional\nscale is simply the range of emotions we are capable of experiencing; from the\nmost positive to the most negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Emotional\nScale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.\nJoy\/Appreciation\/Empowered\/Freedom\/Love<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Passion<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3.\nEnthusiasm\/Eagerness\/Happiness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Positive\nExpectation\/Belief<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5. Optimism<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">6. Hopefulness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">7. Contentment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">8. Boredom<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">9. Pessimism<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10.\nFrustration\/Irritation\/Impatience<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">11. Overwhelmed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">12. Disappointment<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">13. Doubt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">14. Worry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">15. Blame<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">16. Discouragement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">17. Anger<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">18. Revenge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">19. Hatred\/Rage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">20. Jealousy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">21.\nInsecurity\/Guilt\/Unworthiness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">22.\nFear\/Grief\/Depression \/Despair\/Powerlessness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ask yourself where\nyou are on the emotional scale. Then ask, \u201cWhere do I want to be? How do I want\nto feel right now? Do I want to feel (choose a higher emotion) or do I want to\nfeel (choose the one you are currently feeling)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recall a time you\nfelt the way you now want to feel.&nbsp; How <em>did <\/em>that feel?&nbsp; You\ncan now choose to &#8216;recapture&#8217; that feeling. This is very simple, but it has an\namazing impact when you do it. It puts you back in the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Remembering\nSuccesses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you repeat an\naction over and over again, your body will remember it more easily. So, when\nyou are faced with something frightening, overwhelming or frustrating, for\nexample, you can simply say \u201c<strong>yes<\/strong>\u201d with the same intensity as you said it\nwith your fist being drawn back to your body. You can remember the success you had before &#8211; the one\nthat you anchored into your body and bring that successful feeling back into\nyour consciousness at a time when you need it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This also\ninterrupts our little voice that is caught in a state of negative emotion and\ndoes what is called a &#8216;pattern interrupt&#8217;. If you practice this new habit\nregularly, you will be able to deal with negative emotions much more easily\nthan before. I use this as a quick fix when dealing with negative dis-empowering\nemotions.
